Mississippi Gaming Commission Appoints New Deputy Director

The Mississippi Gaming Commission is welcoming a new Deputy Director.  James K. (Jay) McDaniel is joining the Commission on or about September 1, 2011.  Jay will be named Deputy Director to fill the position being vacated by Allen Godfrey who on August 25 became Executive Director of the agency.

Since 2008, Jay has practiced law with the Butler Snow firm in Ridgeland, Mississippi, primarily in the areas of white collar crime and products liability.  Prior to law school, he was a Compliance Officer, Advanced, with the Mississippi Gaming Commission from 1997-2002 and again from 2004-05.  From 2002-04, Jay was a Treasury Analyst and Internal Auditor for Guilford Mills, Inc.

He is a 2008 graduate of the Mississippi College School of Law and a 1997 graduate of Mississippi State University with a B.S. degree in Accounting.
